Default Lose faction for leaving game!

This definitely help reducing the number of people that leaves game. I really don't think losing 1000 faction everytime you leave is a punishment too severe for those occational disruption from life.

1000 what faction? How many PvEers would actually give a toss if they lost 1000 Balth faction? And how many would you severely piss off if they lost 1000 Kurzick/Luxon for zoning out.

ARE YOU KIDDING??? Man I'd run a fit if I lost 1k faction if I decided to zone out. You must have absolutely no idea as to how many people leave whenever they dont have a monk in their party when in RA... its rediculous!

The real issue with this is that you have to consider those that err7 out of the game, and quite often it happens due to reasons that are out of Anet's control.

Hmm...either RA, Aspenwood/AB or a PvEer who can't finish something. In RA, I understand why constant leavers would become annoying. On the other hand, I leave groups if they are horribly bad, obnoxiously rude, or otherwise undesirable to be in.

Should I be penalized because the group I am in is a bunch of jerks/idiots?

Should I lose Faction because YOU lied to ME when forming a PuG calling for Masters only so you could get better players?

If Anet didn't want leavers they could have implemented team locks (inability to click map locations while in missions, unable to click Visit Guild Hall, etc) that force you to finish a mission or shut down your game. I consider map-zoning a valuable feature that can be very useful when used properly. When used improperly, I take screenshots.

I completelly agree.

Leavers are people who have no hope of winning, and also arent empathetic (because if they leave it definitly wont make the team happy).
Those that Err7 out, it would surelly be an unfairness, il give you that, but its better than having an idiot leave everytime you dont have a monk.
But then again, its Random Arenas we are talking about XDDDDDDD.

My solution to this: Erase Gladiator titles. (yes starting flaming me away because you love your precious hard earned title, well :P to you).
But oh the good days of playing Random Arenas with out worries of losing at match #9 (which has happened so many times to me now that i dont even care anymore), but hey its like they say, going slow will get you far.

Or simply play in Team arenas if you want a more organized group with out leavers (usually, well at least if they leave it will be after fight, assuming they lose)

Hi

I also think the problem with a penalty for leaving pve is pretty mcuh mpossible to implement.

Example, you go out with a team to cap, once youve got everyones skills you map out, the game would see this as simply "leaving"

Then theres also the fact it would stop people in pvp leavin gf there was a runner, forcing them to endure match times over an hour or so for little to no gain.

Hmm i agree, the Game cant judge if your rather running from a whole group, wasting their time and making everyones time miserable (althogh personally I love chasing the litle grieving idiots), or just trying to survive.

Then again theres those skills, like that one shout (correct me if im wrong) called "Coward" which will knock anyone fleeing. Its just an example of many.
Then again its a wasted slot if your build has alot of core skills chained.

I've made it my policy to leave immediately after a win, or if we die in seconds... IMO Rude people are spawned from RA, though I'd like to say it's something we have to deal with, I just turn off general chat, and say gg even though I can't see their responses.

Good method, leaving after the win is better than before both teams even face each other.
And when you typed about turning general chat off, i know a better solution, ignore list ftw, I find a rude person, i imediatelly put him/her on ignore list(this includes scammers), because i simply want to never ever have to play with idiot cry babys that shout : "OMG ITS ALL YOUR FAULT GAY MONK THAT DOESNT HEAL GRR GRR grrrr..." so yeah, ignore list and goodbye forever noob!

How about this. In battle places such as Aspenwood, there are "leechers" who just sit there and watch the faction points add up. How about they make it so anyone who doesn't even touch the combat action does not earn any faction?

I dont think the game can tell the difference between zoning out and an err07. Also there are times when leaving is the only thing to do, really. Yesterday I was in RA and my team was 3 monks(including me) and a mending wammo. We came up against a team with 2 monks(pretty good monks too), a mes hexxer and some ranger. It was clear that neither team, especially mine had the right setup to get a kill, or even get an opponent below 50% health. It would have to come to which team would run out of patience first. The match took over 25 mins...

I like the idea, but it would have to reduce your faction if you left the game via map zone or intentional closing of the game/switch character. If they can't differentiate between leavers and those that are accidentally dropped, than it isn't a good system. Of course with the reconnect system, that they keep talking about implementing, they should be able to track who has been dropped from the game and who is simply leaving.

This however doesn't really apply as much to PvEers, they could remove luxon and kurzick faction, but that only applies to Factions. Perhaps instead you could loose Exp or skill points. Although those really don't matter to many people after they have the skills they want, it is a disinsentive.

A rather good and effective idea, the fact that people really don't like this only means they would really be concerned about leaving a match, which would obviously stop them.
